Limerick. So nice, I came here twice! lol This was my second stop after Dublin, and I most enjoyed the simplicity of it all. Definitely more laid back than Dublin. Since I did not rent a car on this trip, I did a lot of walking and that allowed me to go off the beaten path at times and really get a feel for the places I was visiting. Limerick has a subtle charm to it that made me want to come back a second time. Here are a few things I checked out on my visit:

Bunratty Castle & Folk Park:

The Folk Park is a replica 19th Century Irish village, spread out over about 26 acres of land. Quite the walk around haha This recreation includes everything from rural farm houses to shops to an animal & pet farm. The whole thing is extremely well done and you will truly feel like you’ve stepped back in time!

Hunt Museum:

For those interested in history and museums, the Hunt Museum was also a neat place to check out. At the time of my visit, the ‘Made of Earth’ collection was on display, but has since been replaced as of April 7. This exhibit explored the history of ceramics and how they impacted civilization and developed overtime. From the Prehistoric era, to ancient Rome and the Renaissance, to the Industrial Revolution and beyond, the pieces of this collection were pretty interesting. Also included was the Irish Contemporary Ceramics collection.
